I fell in love with テイクミーアウト the moment it was released. The intro and guitar riffs had a quasi-math rock/Tricot[1] feel. The band score was made available in the September 2016 ish of Go!Go!GUITAR and I wasted no time learning it.
For the cover, I used my MAMIcaster and the following stomp boxes (except for the wah):
I used the neck pup (the APS2) on the MAMIcaster, and the Marshall head was set on the clean channel with the gain at 12 o’clock, boosted by the TS-9, as follows:
The MX212 cab was mic-ed with the Shure SM-57.
MAMI’s “five” note riff was actually four, and as I correctly suspected, the notes accompanying the score described the usage of a delay for the “fifth” note.
The settings for the TS-9 and DD-3 for this cover:
For the pitch shifting bit at the end of the solo was done using the Digitech Whammy. Interestingly, MAMI is seen to slide the note to a higher fret when she plays this live.
